Here’s the randomness of my life right now:

I just picked up the New Jawbone bluetooth earpiece. I’m fairly impressed! The packaging was stellar. It made Apple’s fantastic presentation look generic in comparison. The earpiece works quite well, and I’m impressed with the noise canceling abilities. I’ve come to realise that the bluetooth radio in my Treo is lousy, as I still have the same static problem that I had with my Moto H700. Well, only 6 months to a new phone.

The copy of Final Cut that I ordered came in today. The ebayer possibly ripped me off. Doofus sent me an unsealed upgrade instead of the sealed/full-version that I paid for. I’ve sent a complaint, and we’ll see if it is resolved….

At work, I’ve been working on the Prophecy Conference fliers and related promo media. I unfortunately inadvertently trashed last year’s promo video source files, so I’m starting from scratch with the promo video. I have plenty of time though. We’ll start running it in August. I still need to get our voice over guy in too. *sigh* Much to do…

So, Macs have this nifty feature called Time Machine. It’s an automatic backup program/revision tracker.

As the IT guy around here, I’m always yelling at people to back up their personal systems so that they won’t have to hear bad news from me that all their documents are gone when the drive crashes (and yes, it will crash eventually). As I was working this afternoon on my personal MacBook Pro, it occurred to me that I have never once backed this computer up (save my Aperture library), and my life would pretty much be over if it crashed.

I ran down to the server room and found an extra external hard drive that was decomissioned a year ago. I pluged it into my mac and was promped to choose if this drive should be used for backup. I agreed, and it began to back up my system.

I have a hard time believing that I have 700,000 file on my computer.

...and how about Doctor Who this season!

A lot of us are ticked off about whole “snap your fingers to open the TARDIS” business. As much as I love Steven Moffat’s writing (Blink, anyone?), he does bend the Dr. Who rules.

Oddly, Donna has actually turned out to be a better companion than I was expecting considering her “POCKETS!” episode.
